The ILA Locals have unanimously approved a new six-year master contract. This means peace at the East & Gulf Coast ports thru September 30th, 2024. The agreement is really an extension of the current contract which negates the need for a new contract. The deal is similar to the labor deal agreed to on the West Coast which will last thru 2022. This means we will have nationwide peace at the ports for another 4 years. The details of the contract have not been released so we can not comment on the specifics however the ILA Executive Vice President has called this “the best ILA contract ever negotiated”.
