Gratitude is our Attitude

I hope you enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving, albeit different I am guessing. I am happy to share that we were able to continue our day after Thanksgiving Shoule family tradition of driving to Connecticut to cut down our Christmas trees. While it was a timed entry this year and no hanging around for hot chocolate and freshly baked cookies, it was still a fun outing as it always is.

When my parents, Bob and Maureen, began this great ritual, my mother was pregnant with Bobby and my sister still had a few years before she came onto the scene. We brought our own saw and string and put a $5 bill for the tree in an unattended glass fishbowl on the back porch of a farmhouse in Hyde Park up near where the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site is. Needless to say, I was not much help for my father as he dragged the 10 foot plus tree (mind you their living room ceiling was only 8 feet tall) through the empty woods and then lifted it onto the roof of our wood-paneled station wagon. Here are some photos from the "early years".

Today Christmas tree cutting is a much different experience commercially. All these years later though, it is still the same experience emotionally for us.

And if you ever wondered why Bobby and I still believe in Santa Claus, take one look at the guy in the right corner of Friday's family photo.

We are grateful for your continued business, especially during these challenging times that we all face.
Stay safe during this holiday season and may we all share our fellowship with each other,
