Forefathers (and mothers) Friday?
With the plethora of emails concerning Black Friday, Small Business Saturday, Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday behind us, my brother Bobby and I, and our staff, wanted to send a quick email of appreciation to you, our valued clients and our prospective future clients as well. Your loyalty has blessed JW Hampton with the opportunity to serve the import and export community for over 158 years and we thank you for that.
On this Forefathers (and Mothers) Friday we also want to acknowledge the people who have gotten us to the point of four generations of success - three of whose photos hang on the wall of the office - our great-grandfather John J. Shoule and our grandparents Robert C. Shoule and Grace B. Shoule. The fourth photo which does not actually hang on the wall is Abraham Lincoln who began the year of JW Hampton's founding, 1865, as the President of our great country.
Lastly, but surely not least, we thank our parents, Bob and Maureen. JW Hampton would not still be in the Shoule family today if it were not for their efforts and the values they instilled in us when we were very young. Those values of hard work and honesty are still the primary motivators for our company today. Statistics show that only about 10% of family businesses survive into the third generation and here we are in our fourth generation and growing. Thank you Mom and Dad and thanks for keeping our day after Thanksgiving Shoule family Christmas tree cutting tradition going strong.
If you ever had the privilege of meeting our parents in person, you already know why Bobby and I still believe in Santa Claus.
We are grateful for your continued business. And since there is no day that begins with the letter R, let's make today Referral Friday as well. If you have any friends, family, or business associates who work for companies that import and export and might benefit from the personal service that JW Hampton provides we would appreciate the introduction. There are a lot of freight forwarders and Customs brokers whose service level has gone down ever since the pandemic and so starting a conversation with JW Hampton might be a good decision. They will thank you for it and so will we.
