China "Fentanyl Tariffs" Reduced from 20% to 10%

Finally, the White House has issued their Executive Order (EO) related to President Trump's announcement that he will lower from 20% to 10% the additional tariff assessed on products from China that was associated with the opioid supply chain and the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA).

The rule is simple: if you file your entry on or after Monday, November 10th, you can take advantage of the lower rate. When considering when to transmit the entry to possibly save the 10%, it will depend largely on the FOB invoice value as compared to potential storage/demurrage costs and whether your trucker can pick up on Monday or Tuesday. With many ports requiring appointments, the appointment systems will likely be full.
